TBRI® CAREGIVER TRAINING: A 4-HOUR INTRODUCTION BY ZOOM
Provided by Florida 1.27 in partnership with Children’s Network of Hillsborough County (CNHC).
Florida 1.27 is pleased to offer this TBRI® Caregiver Training through its partnership with Children’s Network of Hillsborough County (CNHC). This live, interactive online training is designed to support prospective and licensed foster parents in Hillsborough County as they care for children and families.
Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention developed by the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development (KPICD) at Texas Christian University. TBRI® equips caregivers with practical, relationship-based strategies that help create felt safety, strengthen relationships, support healthy development, and respond effectively to challenging behaviors. Research has found positive outcomes for children and families participating in standardized TBRI® interventions.
During this training, participants will be introduced to the core principles of TBRI® and gain practical tools they can begin using immediately. Together, we will explore how trauma, adversity, and attachment influence behavior and learn strategies for building trust, promoting regulation, and supporting children from hard places.
Who Should Attend?
This training is intended for prospective and licensed foster parents serving children and families in Hillsborough County through Florida 1.27’s partnership with Children’s Network of Hillsborough County (CNHC).
Training Schedule
- Format: Live via Zoom
- Schedule: Tuesday evenings, August 18 and August 25, 2026 @ 7:00–9:00 p.m.
- Length: 4 hours, presented in two 2-hour sessions
- Certificate of Completion: Participants who attend the entire training and meet the attendance requirements below will receive a Certificate of Completion for TBRI® Caregiver Training.
Your Facilitator
This training is facilitated by a TBRI® Practitioner who has successfully completed KPICD Practitioner Training and is authorized to deliver TBRI® Caregiver Training.
Technology Requirements
Participants will need:
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer or tablet with speakers
- A webcam is required and must remain on throughout both training sessions to verify attendance and participation.
- Access to Zoom (the meeting link will be provided after registration)
Attendance & Certificate Requirements
To receive a Certificate of Completion for TBRI® Caregiver Training, participants must comply with the following requirements:
Full Attendance Required: You must attend both Part 1 and Part 2 in their entirety. Certificates are issued only after both sessions have been completed. Partial credit cannot be awarded under any circumstances.
Session Order: Part 1 must be completed before attending Part 2. Participants who miss Part 1 may not attend Part 2 and will need to register for a future training.
Punctuality Policy: Out of respect for the instructor and fellow participants, attendees will not be admitted more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time. Anyone arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted to the Zoom session and will need to register for a future training to receive a Certificate of Completion.
